The Beauty Of Collecting Brazilian Stamps And Postcards

Brazilian culture evolved out of the influences of multiple ethnicities like the Portuguese, Native Americans and Africans and other immigrants from Spain, Germany and Italy. This means the culture of Brazil is like a rich tapestry woven out a melting pot of traditions, cuisine, music, art, literature, architecture and religion. This is also a country blessed endless by the bounty of nature with its tropical climate and endless beaches. Sport too plays a dominant role in Brazilian culture. Brazilian culture is thus a multi-layered and multifaceted cultural paradise. So, what better way to convey this than with postcards and stamps which, if one looks at it, is as good as an art form.

Brazilian postcards showcase a multitude of themes related to the breathtaking natural beauty like its sylvan beaches with their endless skies, sun kissed sand and colorful beach umbrellas. They also capture the beauty of the classic and the contemporary from everyday Brazilian life. This includes the beautiful and serene face of a child or a lady in colonial attire in watercolor. They also capture the hectic, chaotic and wholly colorful frenzy of the streets of Rio De Janeiro or the brewing cultural scene of Sao Paulo. Some of them are classic images, like the breathtaking image of one of the seven wonders of the modern world, the statue of Christ the Redeemer.

Brazilian stamps reflect the mind-boggling diversity of Brazilian culture as well as the people who have shaped Brazil. Of course, a series of football stamps commemorate the close relationship the country has with that beautiful game. Also seen are lively watercolor stamps of the rich flora and fauna of Brazil, from the tropical Macaws to Anacondas. A bevy of images capturing the radiant and vibrant carnivals that are iconic symbols of Brazilian culture are also immortalized in the stamps of Brazil.
