There must be thousands of postcards and stamps from Great Britain. Many that can be found on internet auction sites are from the early 1900s and earlier. Queen Victoria is a favorite subject of British stamps and postcards. Many of their post cards depict events in Britain. There is a picture postcard from 1954 of cockles gathering along the shore with a stamp of George VI canceled.
These postcards are highly prized by collectors. Great Britain had many countries under their rule and they have issued stamps for all of them including Nyasaland, Jamaica, Australia, Queensland and Ireland. A 1924 postcard depicts the Brixham Outer Harbour and Berryhead Vale. Stamps issued for St. Lucia has the likenesses of Edward V, VI, VII, VIII. There have been many more stamps of George VI also.
In the early 1900 many postcards and stamps were printed of Queen Victoria, a favorite of her subjects. England has issued many stamps of Antigua, Leeward Islands, and the Norfolk Islands bird stamps. Postcards of the London Royal Exchange printed in 1902 and Clachan Empire Exhibition in Scotland were issued in 1938. Queen Elizabeth II was a favorite subject for stamps and postcards prior to the Coronation, and after her coronation scenes of the ceremonies made for one of the most beautiful postcards with the likeness of Queen Elizabeth with the crown and necklace. A very young and beautiful queen she was. That beauty still graces stamps and postcards today in Great Britain.
